"Celebrate the extraordinary in the ordinary"
Tuesdays tend to be errands day. After fun and productive weekends like the last, there's life stuff to deal with and new projects to be prepared. Today I had a busy agenda!
First of course, there was time for coffee while sorting my todos ; then, an early trip to do laundry at a new friends' house who I help to look after the cat ; returning 2.5 crates of beer from the weekend ; food shopping ; back at Mr. Bojangles (aka camper) for breakfast ; then off to Apeldoorn to return some underlayment I had left over from the loft project (thanks to the neighbouring builders for helping me load them onto the trailer) ; joining the Strobox team in Deventer for a coffee (me being their guest of honor, obviously) and to kidnap Roelof ; off to another workshop to cut lengths of wood to a 15 degree angle to support the window ledges, and load up a scaffolding I could borrow (thanks Roelof!) ; safely returning the kidnappee I could finally head back to get to work! ; wait, its 1pm and I needed a bite ; a two egg and cheese omelet with mushrooms and tomatoes later, let's get to work!
The project I had long been preparing for, a seemingly simple project to add exterior window ledges, had turned into a multiple-day project. Knowing of my desire to use natural materials instead of zinc, lead or plastic, Roelof proposed a deal. A day's work at Strobox in return for six beautiful Douglas planks, bark still on. "Deal" - I quickly responded. So, there I went, on the hottest day of the year, sweating in the sun building panels, but returned home smiling, got me my planks!
And after all the pieces of the puzzles were made, putting it all together wasnt that much work this afternoon. Preparing a video on that, see part 2.
Between things, I filled up the trailer to collect bags of lime in preparation of the cob plastering ; picked up my laundry ; and had a much needed shower, gosh do I smell these days!! Oh, and I wrote this blog and made the video for part 2.
So this Tuesday was a mix of essential, productive, fun, diverse, emotional, moving, and so much more. But at least I have another project ticked off!! See below my to-do list as of today. Check what a friend recently added in the bottom right corner - "Receive: Self love & Support" - Loved it!
